Range: 2,520,000 – 2,800,000 IQDJob Summary:The Environmental Engineer ensures compliance with environmental regulations, protects public and workplace health, and minimizes the facility’s environmental footprint. They design, implement, and supervise programs related to air, water, soil, waste, and process safety, with a focus on permitting, monitoring, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:• Monitor refinery emissions, wastewater treatment, and waste management systems to ensure environmental compliance.• Conduct site inspections and environmental audits to identify non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.• Prepare environmental reports, including monitoring data, compliance assessments, and performance indicators.• Support the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and sustainability improvement programs.• Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and HSE departments to optimize environmental performance.• Investigate environmental incidents, identify root causes, and propose preventive measures.• Provide training and awareness sessions on environmental standards and safe work practices.• Liaise with local environmental authorities and external auditors as required.• Ensure compliance with refinery HSE procedures and environmental protection policies.Qualifications & Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.• 3–5 years of experience in environmental engineering within refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities.• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, HSE management systems, and pollution control processes.• Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools, data analysis, and technical reporting.• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.• Ability to work under a rotational schedule and in field environments.• Professional Certifications: if any NEBOSH/IOSH.Please send your CV by email to sarah@darjah-iq.comNoting that any applications from non-Iraqi candidates will not be reviewed.
